Below, TEDx talk 2021 — Sustainability is about better decisions being made for the good of people and planet. But what does the word sustainability even really mean? In this talk, author and travel writer Juliet Kinsman explores the meaning of positive social, environmental and economic impact. A professional sustainability advisor, she shares mind-boggling eco facts, explains surprising milestones in the history of the green movement, and hones our instincts so that we can all become changemakers.

Talking about hotels and sustainability — whether in print, on a panel, or in front of a camera — is what I do best. It's always a privilege to be asked to be a keynote speaker, judge or talking head on the radio or TV, when it comes to sharing my love of hotels, travel, and sustainability. I’ve explored the world, staying in stylish hotels from Sydney to Sao Paulo and Shanghai to Somerset and I know what guests want from a charming B&B, inner-city design hotel or a five-star spa, and the secret to attracting the right mix of people and getting them to make the right noises. London is home, but I have enjoyed spells living in Bali, New York, Athens, India; you could say I’ve slept around.
